Projects
Goyena, Trolio, and New Haven
Our work in Nicaragua focuses on the rural communities of Goyena and Trolio outside León. We work with community leaders there to improve education, develop youth leadership, improve women’s rights, and work on economic sustainability and environmental issues. Our goal is to create an environmentally sustainable, economically self-sufficient, active community empowered to continue improving their quality of life.
In New Haven, our social justice mission calls us to respond to the impact of climate change on rural communities and on New Haven. We have created a number of projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve public health including the New Haven Climate Movement, goNewHavengo, and the Nicaragua Carbon Offset Fund to fund clean cookstove installations in Nicaragua.
