Women Rock the Future

A hike empowering women and girls

Saturday, September 26th

Women Rock the Future is a community hike designed to raise awareness for education, advocacy, and food programs supporting women and girls in New Haven and León, Nicaragua. New Haven Leon Sister City Project is proud to host this event, which includes a hike through East Rock Park and guest speakers on September 26, 2026. We hope you will register and join us as we reflect upon and celebrate the role of women’s leadership in the history and future of New Haven’s partnership with Leon, Nicaragua.

Hike Details:

A walk/hike in East Rock Park on well used trails and roads on Saturday, September 26th, starting at 10:30am.

Start: East Rock Park by Livingston and Cold Spring Streets.

​

End: Edgerton Park (Whitney Ave and Cliff Street) where CT Folk Festival will be kicking off at noon.

​

Route: To top of East Rock via East Rock Drive; descend via Farnum Drive.
